Political Science

Note: This will be written in an informal manor. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I love the idea of building a society. It absolutely fascinates me. I think that's why I got so interested in young adult novels back in grade four and five; or online minecraft games on mineplex. It views society differently.

Politics are weird. Everything is weird, but I'll get to that in a moment. But like, the way I see it is that we made up a bunch of words and applied a meaning to them to tell people what they can and cannot do, and also tell them who's in charge. Government is just a human idea(though I still believe  it should be followed. However, I do think it can be improved). It's only purpose is to help keep the peace, and sometimes that fails too.

Language also fascinates me. We just figured out how to make specific sounds and added them together to make words. Then we take it a step further and make these little squiggly lines and say "hey, this squiggle means this sound now" and everyone's okay with  it. I absolutely adore it.

Then we got bored, so we decided to make a bunch of stuff we didn't need. Then people started thinking "maybe I don't need another object that I'll throw away in two months"; so we threw a bunch of marketers at them to fix the problem( I have no problem with marketers; just overconsumtion).

Like, humans. Am I right?

Ps. If you are interested in the environment and overconsumtion, check out my other blog called Nourishing Nature. There isn't much yet, but I'm planning a few things. Thanks!

WARNING:CONTAINS SPOILERS----Clara and the Raven.

Okay Doctor Who fans. Something absolutely devastating happened this Saturday. Clara Oswald has left us. I can not begin to describe how many people were absolutely devastated about this. I even know some people who cried, but I don't blame them, I cried when Amy and rose left. I heard through the internet that she was leaving, I just didn't know it would be this fast. I expected at least one more episode. I wasn't prepared to leave another companion yet.

Clara Oswin Oswald was kind, nurturing, brave, brilliant, witty, caring, thoughtful, and intelligent. She was one of my favourite companions, and I am very upset that she had to leave. But, even though it's sad, she had some of the most seasons of all the new generation of Doctor Who companions. But in the end, she was brave. She died because she wanted to help. She tried to fix things, make it right. She didn't run from the raven(which killed her), she embraced it. She was brave.

So, I really don't have enough time to finish a summary of the story, because this is my free time in class, and I don't have enough time to sum up the story, but all you have to know is that she was brilliant, and brave.

...But hey, at least they didn't kill her on Christmas.

The Brad Rap.

Last year, in my class, a group of friends and I were toying around with these animal erases, that you can take apart and put back together. We ended up putting a Koala bear body on a giraffe body, took the yellow part off, and called it Brad. We liked Brad so much, that we made a rap about him. Enjoy....

Brad rap

It's Brad,
He's a little British lad,
Who lives with his dad,
In the little man pad,

It's Brad,
He may be French just a tad,
His best friend is Chad
In math he can add,

He's Brad,
He thinks Webkinz are a fad,
He only wears plaid,
And his landlord is Vlad,

It's Brad,
He's really, really rad,
Sometimes he's sad,
But mostly he's glad,

It's Brad,
A hat is something he had,
He rarely gets mad,
It's Brad,

Yeah, yeah,
Oh yeah,
It's Brad!

Now, I would like to tell you guys about a story I'm going to start writing. It is a remake of a story that I wrote on my grade 6 blog in January, and if you would like to read my previous version, click on my name, go to bogs, click on the grade 6 blog, and go to January. It should be there. Okay, see you soon!

As Time Goes On. Part 1. By:Keira

A blanket of ash covers the ground, and the stars fall from the sky. Literally. Flakes of glowing light emerge from the sky, dancing around the last of us. Beautiful, but deadly. I reach out to touch one, but Matt swats my hand away. Then, I hear a scream. Jane. She clutches a burnt hand, screaming, as Sarah and Toby lead her inside. But Matt and I just stand here, staring at the falling stars. I'm ready to let go, when I here it. Why did it have to be that. I was ready for the end...
Let me introduce myself. I'm Kate. I'm a senior in high school. Well, I was in high school. But that was before the incident... But we'll get to that later. So, anyways, I'm 17 years old, and I was an honour student at my high school. I have long, silky, dirty blond-hair, and eyes that are like the ocean. I have creamy skin and I tend to wear open hoodies with nerdy tee-shirts. I used to spend my weekends studying at the beach and doing charity work. But know, I'm to bust trying to save the last of us...
Let me tell you how this all started...

"Kate! Come on! The bell's about to ring! We're going to miss class!" Shouts Derek, rushing me to get to class in time, which is all the way on the other side of campus.
"I'm coming, just give me a minute to gather my books." I shout in response. He's a good best friend and all, but things would be going a lot faster if he was helping me instead of rushing me. Whatever. We'll still get to class in time.
It was a sunny, spring day. The sun was beaming, the sky was light blue, the grass was green. The air was moist warm, yet crisp, all at the same time. Derek and I were just about to meet up with Matt and Sophia in biology for a project that we were doing, when it happened. The sky turned a greenish-purple, as grey clouds cast themselves into the sky. Lightning strikes at random, and Derek pulls me to the ground, trying to decrease our chance of getting struck down.
"Kate, we have to get out of here, stay low, okay?" He says, worriedly. Lightning strikes right beside us, and catches that area on fire. we stare in disbelief. there was nothing tall beside us, just flat ground. It strikes again, directly in-between us.
Then, all I see is a light flash.

To be continued...

Update

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posting lately. My computer broke down and I can barley find the time to post. But I promise that as soon as we get my computer fixed, that there will be more blojg activity. That's all for now. Bye!

Cats and Rats. The insane math problem.

Hi everyone. So today in math class, my teacher gave us(the class) a homework assignment. I don't want answers from you, but I do want you to think about this. Here it is:

6 cats can kill 6 rats in 6 minutes. If 6 cats can kill 6 rats in 6 minutes, how many cats could kill 100 rats in 50 minutes?

Okay, well, I hope you enjoyed this question. I know I did. Don't be afraid to give it a try. It may be complicated, but it sure is fun. That's all I have to say for now, but I'll post something later. Bye!
